India Couture Week,Day 6-Couture at Its Best!

Day 6, or last day of India Couture Week saw mixed feeling. A satisfaction of a very successful season,  but pang of separation was also evident. My pick of last day is:

Sulakshna Monga: Sulakshna's collection had royal and catchy designs which made it very interesting. Beautiful colors, intricate embroidery, rich fabrics were part of her collection.

Rimple & Harpreet Narula: Surprise package.

Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers Show-Parinay: No couture is complete without jewelry. Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers collection was used by all the designers. But the very important show was of the jeweler itself. The shree raj mahal  Shree Raj Mahal Jeweller show was beautiful done, best of apparels, with the best of accessories. Bipasha Basu & Chitrangada added glamour glitter to the show.

Manish Malhotra Midas Touch Show-'Portraits'

Manish Malhotra's much sought after show at India Couture Week day 5 witnessed gold pouring in. Zardozi, with gold mirror work made rich. Colors used were bright red, brown, pink. While Alia Bhatt & Aditya Roy Kapoor were the show stoppers, Urmila Matondkar and Huma Quraishi stole the lime light in guest seatings.

Fusion of Tradition With Modernism-Day 3 India Couture Week,2014

Day 3 witnessed fusion of traditional values with modern styles. Monisha Jai Singh,Varun Bahl, and Rohil Bal showed their latest collections. While Monisha and Varun did a ramp show, Rohit Bal did media preview.
Here is my pick of day 3:
Monisha Jai Singh: Monisha's collection had everything for every occasion and everybody. Be it cocktail gowns, Ring ceremony dress, Mehndi, wedding-whatever, her collection has everything for everybody with a difference. The collection was experimentative with pleasing colours. The heights of experiment was when Lisa Hayden came as show stopper with heavy embroidery black leather lehnga with White shirt wearing 'Chuda' a traditional jewellery for Punjabi weddings. A show with a difference indeed.

Rohit Bal: Or I should write The Rohit Bal as he is class apart. Where people stop thinking, he begins from there and makes a masterpiece. I wish he had done a ramp show, but he did media preview which was mesmerising. All the girls be it Noyonika, Carol, Lakshmi or Kanishtha were looking so graciously beautiful in ivory and gold collection, that photographers could not resist clicking their picks. The jewellery used was so apt to the collection.
When asked for inspiration Mr.Rohit Bal said that his inspiration was keeping it minimal to get maximum. That's why he used ivory with a touch of told, so that the beauty of accessories used should come out. He said that he has kept it as natural for girls as possible. Whereas for boys the dresses as well as accessories were elaborate. Here is my pick from his collection:
