Wills India Fashion Week SS,15-Day 5: adiós & gracias

"It's time to say goodbye, but I think goodbyes are sad and I'd much rather say hello. Hello to a new adventure."
                                                                        Ernie Harwell
Last day of WIFW arrived. Every designer seemed pleased and hopeful for better business; some busy in closing deals, some busy in exploring new markets, some are heading for new adventure. But everybody was satisfied, as All's well that ends well. Its time to say goodbye and thank you to each other, isn't it.

Here is my pick of day 5:

Gulbagh Created at Quli Khan's Tomb by Rohit Bal, Historic Grand Finale of Wills India Fashion Week!

"I Prayed so much that I became a prayer myself."
                                                                               Rumi

This quote of famous Saint Rumi seems so true for Mr.Rohit Bal; he has loved and  lived art so much-that he has become art himself. Its been two days and I am still mesmerised with his spectacular Grand Finale. From ambience to de'cor, from music to lyrics, from dresses to presentation, everything was so soulfully done. The moonlight, Qutub Minar  in the backdrop was making the ambience of Quli Khan's Tomb so romantic & magical. Shubha Mudgal's high pitched songs were making the surroundings highly spiritual.
The Décor at Quli Khan's Tomb

Rohit Bal’s ‘GULBAGH’, inspired by the rich and lush Mughal Gardens of Kashmir, is a tribute to the God-gifted and unparalleled beauty of the valley. Mesmerizing the audience, through a visual and musical spectacle, the event recreated the erstwhile court of the Mughals through flowers and live music. With guests entering to live sufi music, the show began with the resounding voice of the internationally acclaimed doyen of Indian classical music – Shubha Mudgal. While she sang, the models walked the ramp, adorned with flowers.
His grand finale is an example of his knowledge and fashion aesthetics as the collection he presented personified grace, which is a prerequisite for the sanctity of the tomb. I have seen history being created on ramp.

The show began with the Nazm
"Jab yaar dekha nain bhar, dil ki gayi chintaa utar
Aisa naheen koi ajab, raakhay usay samjhaay kar…."

                                                          by Hazrat Amir Khusrau

It reached to ecstasy by the following Nazm
"Main hosh mein hoon to teraa hoon, deewana hoon to teraa hoon
Hoon raaz agar to teraa hoon, afsana hoon to teraa hoon..."
                                                                       by Zaheen Shah Taaji

Shubha Mudgal ji's soulful voice and music made the ambiance divine and everybody spellbound. Rohit Bal received standing ovation for his presentation.
Some pictures to depict the collection:

Dashing Arjun Rampal walked the ramp as show stopper.

Grace and Style All the Way! Day-4 WIFW,SS15

Fashion always was a huge interest of mine. I love beautiful clothes. I appreciate fine beading and lovely fabrics.

Day 4 of Will India Fashion Week saw balance between old and new. The young designers showed their creative best and experimented with fabrics and colours, whereas the stalwart of fashion industry Wendell Rodriques restricted himself to white and designs as simple as possible.

Here is my pick of day 4:

Sahil Kochhar - Dhoop Chhao: Sahil stole my heart by his gracious collection. The feel of fabrics and beautiful detailing from Mathura, was making the collection so wearable and unique.

Urvashi Kaur - ZIRAN-Comfortable breathing fabric and ties and dyes gave the collection a must have look for coming spring summer.

Siddartha Tytler

Vineet Bahl - Malhaar- Vineet's collection has calming effect as Raag Malhaar has. The collection was very elegant, gracious, wearable-everything.

Raakesh Agarvwal -  Chic & Stylish designs.

Wendell Rodriques: Yoga Calm: “Never be so busy as not to think of others.”

Wendell Presented his collection to support handloom weavers, handloom-a fading art. The collection was calm and serene as visible from following pics.
