Nikasha
Nikasha's AW'13 collection celebrates the flirty side of a woman's persona.Taking inspiration from "Raat ki Rani", Nikasha presented multi facets. A range of monochromatic garments in peachish beige colour with glittery stone work opened the show. It followed by Choli Lehngas in red, green and violet. A violet Sari with geometric maze motif stole the show. The show offered abundance of gold & glitter making it contemporary Indian high-pret. She gets 7/10
Vineet Bahl
Vineet draws inspiration from Awadh's nawabi grandeur in erstwhile hindustan for over a century. Of particular interest in this culture was was the 'Zenana', a sanctified neighbourhood in 'purdah'. Vineet's show starts with Gulzar's narration, and takes us to a different wolrd of beauty through his collection. His collection has Kurtas, pyzama's with open 'paycha', shararas, sari's in handloom organza, tissue and velvets. In detailing the profundity of 'chikan' is hilighted by the use 'sheesha' adorning the dupattas of opening outfits.
Vineet elegant collection gets a 8/10 from me.
Surily Goel
Surily presented chic and up market silhouettes with simple cuts. The fabric used were nets, silk crepes and velvets. Abstract placement on yokes and hexagonal motifs gave an edgy look. Hot pants, jumpsuits and maxi dresses created magic on the ramp. Surily's show stopper Preity Zinta looked stunning in black shiny one shoulder gown. Surily's collection gets 6/10
Pankaj & Nidhi
Pankaj & Nidhi took inspiration from Baroque music. The duo encapsulated the areas that surround the music-rhythm, the harmony and the instrument. Digital prints placed the instruments in definitive patterns. The pleasant enduring effect was later depicted with floral motifs. Blue and light blue, orange on black and blue colour combinations sit aesthetically. Laser cut effect was edvident in their collection. The designer duo gets 7/10.
